Tour Description
This trip is conceived to permit you discover the expressive culture and traditions of the West, South West and North West Regions of Cameroon where you shall visit the peoples and experience the culture of the Grassfield of Cameroon. These are people who are very attached to their roots and ancestral beliefs. They have until date been able to preserve their authentic cultures far from the influence of modern civilisations. You shall also have the opportunity to visit Bimbia, which still remind us of the historic slave trade activities which took place on the Cameroon coast in that regrettable but long era of history.
The tour shall end with a leisure trip to the sea resort city of Limbe also known as the ´´City of Friendship´´ before flying to the Douala International Airport for your home flight.
Daily Program
Day 1: Abroad – Nsimalen International Airport – Yaounde
Welcome at the airport and transfer to hotel. Dinner and overnight.
Day 2: Yaounde – Batoufam – Bandjoun
Breakfast and drive to Batoufam. Stop over at Ebebda at the Sanaga Bridge and admire local people extracting sand in the river. Continuation to the West Region to visit the Chief’s Palace of Batoufam. Arrival and visit of the Palace. Meet, greet and discuss with the king before departing to Bandjoun for an overnight.
Day 3: Bandjoun – Lake Mbapit – Foumban
Breakfast and drive to Foumbot. Hike up the Mount Bapit to visit its ´´Mysterious Lake´´ at the summit of the volcanic mountain. Descend the mountain and continuation to Foumban to discover the rich and exceptional culture of the Bamoun people. Dinner and overnight at Foumban.
Day 4: Foumban – Petpenoun – Bamendjing
Excursion to the Petpenoun tourist centre. Lunch at the centre and continuation to visit the Bamendjing dam. Overnight at Bamendjing.
Day 5: Bamendjing – Bamenda – Bamessing – Babungo
Visit the Bagam Village and continue to Bamenda. City tour of Bamenda and drive down the Sabga hills to Bamessing. Visit the pottery and drive to Babungo for overnight in the Fon’s palace.
Day 6: Babungo – Bamenda
Day consecrated to the visit of the different tourist attractions in the Babungo kingdom. Thereafter, drive to Bamenda for an overnight.
Day 7: Bamenda – Dschang
Drive from Bamenda to Dschang with a stop to visit the Metche Waterfalls. Visit the museum of Civilization in Dschang, and free relaxation in the evening. Overnight stay at Dschang.
Day 8: Dschang – Buea
Drive through the cliff (Escarpment) of Santchou down to the Moungo Division. Observation of large banana, pineapples, coffee, cocoa, oil palm, rubber tree plantations on the way. Visit Buea, the ‘’City of legendary hospitality’’. Relaxation in the evening and overnight in Buea.
Day 9: Buea – Limbe
After breakfast, drive to Limbe via the tea plantations, and continue to Bimbia. Visit the residues of the historic slave trade site. Return to Limbe, dinner and overnight.
Day 10: Limbe – Douala
Swimming in the Atlantic Ocean in the morning, visit of the botanical gardens, and visit to the zoo in Limbe before departing to Douala for overnight.
Day 11: Douala – Airport – Abroad
Relaxation in the morning, and shopping in the afternoon. Transfer to the airport for return flight. End of tour.
Included: Transportation in a comfortable vehicle with driver and fuel, shared accommodation, Breakfasts and dinners, guide, trackers, all visits and activities mentioned in the program.
